The Place Denfert-Rochereau as seen from the Allées
Judith's statue is in its initial location, at the foot of the Allées, that is to say on the extreme east side. The semi-circular wall, which still exists, included a stone bench. An invitation to sit down and meditate on the Fate of Holopherne ? the Place Denfert-Rochereau is behind and the statue of the personage after whom the square is named, can be seen though the trees on this photograph taken in winter.
